The House of Representatives candidate for Lokoja / Kogi Federal Constituency on the platform of African Democratic Congress (ADC),  Surveyor Zacch Jonathan has described the forthcoming election as a proverbial battle between David and Goliath that will give a great shock to both the APC and the PDP.
The ADC Candidate noted that he is drawing his strength from the people who he said have been alienated from the leadership of both the ruling APC and the main opposition party, PDP.
Jonathan a current National President of Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) Alumni Association disclosed this over the weekend with some selected Journalists in Lokoja, Kogi state capital.
He likened his entry into the race as divine call to rescue his constituency from the shackles of deprivation and underdevelopment adding that he was born to fight against oppression and injustice.
He added that if elected he will bring new wave of solving the problems of his constituency stressing that he had begun to organise the  youth.into  an academy while training women and the vulnerable  on skills acquisition to making them self reliant.
According to him: “as a student, I was a member of the students union. As a worker in an oil company, I was in the Union. I was elected member of NUPENG when I was barely four months old on the employment. I am consistently seeing something that need to be corrected. I love service and this is why I am always contesting to add value to my constituency.
“I had wanted to step aside from politics because of the way I was treated, but my people kept prodding me. In all my life, I have been engaged in community service. My strength against the candidates of APC and PDP is the people and this is their fear.”
The House of Representatives hopeful assured of his commitment to the development of the constituency no matter the campaign to discredit him stressing that he will not deviate from the set goals.
While explaining the events that excluded him from being the candidate of ADC in the just concluded bye election for Lokoja/ Kogi Federal Constituency, he said even though he was hurt by activities of some leaders of the party he has put that behind him so as to strengthen the party for the task ahead.
He charged  his supporters to work hard for the success of the party which he said was no longer a cornershop  but a party to beat.
He added that the initial support of the party by the former President Olusegun Obasanjo to be used as the third force has galvanise the party to wrestle power from the big parties.
Asked if he is not afraid of  the big names of APC and PDP, he said: “God does not depend on man to achieve his objectives. He only uses an individual as a face of his purpose. At a point God has used Olusegun Obassnjo as a voice for the party. He has moved to another level. My assurance is in the move of God which I am his bonafide follower.”
He stressed that his experiences in contesting  elections in the past  has given  him an edge over his opponents urging his supporters to work in synergy with him to deliver the constituency for the ADC,  a party he said,  has the people as its priority.
