A reputable public school, LGEA Model School, Ogaminana has conferred an award of excellence on the Executive Chairman of Adavi local government of Kogi state, Hon. Joseph Omuya Salami.
Salami, an alumnus of the school, was honored for outstanding, excellent leadership and his contributions to the development of the school.
The award was conferred on the local government chairman during the school’s annual prize-giving and graduation ceremony in Ogaminana on Saturday.
Chairman of the event, Comrade Badmus Kadiri, commended the council chairman for inspiring the younger generations.
He prayed that God continue to elevate the council chairman and all old students of the school. He appealed for intervention in improving the current situation of the school.
In a brief remark, Hon. Joseph Omuya, expressed gratitude to the school for the honour. He dedicated the award to Governor Yahaya Bello.
“Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello established unity, peace, and progress in Adavi local government, and he has also served as a role model and mentor to me and many other Nigerians. I am following his leadership style and building on all that which he has already established.
“Public schools remain the best among other schools where one can easily discover naturally gifted, brilliant, and promising students.
“I urged every parent to care for their children excessively and be responsible for their education. Our children will continue to be the leaders of tomorrow, especially now the executive governor of Kogi State has summoned the courage to stand and ask for the right for our youths and generations yet unborn.
“On this gracious day, I am going to award scholarships to some pupils; the Head boy, Head girl, and overall best student of my prestigious school.
“I urge every parent, particularly the mothers, to always watch over children and the company they keep. You can engage them into skill acquisitions that will also help them in the future,” he said.
Also, Hon. Joseph Omuya Salami and his entire cabinet members proceeded to grace the graduation ceremony and 10th year anniversary of Best Brain School Ogaminana.
The management of Best Brain School equally bestowed on the council chairman an award of excellence for his efforts at enhancing security and education development.
