A chairmanship aspirant under the platform of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Comrade Ajagun Opeyemi Samuel has pledged to give his best in service of his people in Yagba West local government area of Kogi state.
Ajagun, former President of National Association of Okun Students (NAOS), known on Tuesday after finalizing his documentation process at the state secretariat of SDP in Lokoja.
Ajagun, popularly known as Okun Boy, said his decision to contest was anchored on the dire need for ‘servant-leader’ at the grassroots. He vowed that every nooks and crannies of Yagba West will witness “genuine change”.
He promised that, if elected, the people at the grassroot level will feel the impacts of the government through a change in approach.
“My priority will be shifted to human capital development, youth and women empowerment, giving juicy packages to the aged ones and tackling poverty. In as much as we can not totally eradicate poverty in our society, we can alleviate it. My administration will be committed to tackling the scourge of poverty,” he said.
Ajagun said that his ability to join the race and contest in the forthcoming election was as a result of the support given to him by the people of Yagba West local government.
He appealed to all sons and daughters of Yagba West to come in their large number and cast their votes for the Social Democratic Party on the 12th of December.
