All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders in Egbeda ward in Kabba/Bunu local government area of Kogi state have reaffirmed their endorsement of Hon Olorundare Ojo, popularly known as Alausa, as the councillorship candidate.
This development is coming after days of squabbles and political differences that emanated from the election of Hon Alausa by the executive members of APC) in Egbeda Ward.
This was the resolution of Kabba-Bunu stakeholders during an engagement at the office of the Commissioner for Education over complaints over the conduct of the affirmation of candidates across the wards of the LGA.
The meeting which has in attendance the Commissioner for Education, Hon Wemi Jones; State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara; Special Adviser to the Governor on Energy Matters, Hon Bode Adeyemi; Caretaker Chairman of Kabba/Bunu and Candidate for the party in the LGA, Barr Zacheous Dare Michael; Member, Kogi State Assembly Service Commission, Hon Alfred Bello and other leaders.
The 27-member executive of the party in Egbeda ward led the party Chairman, Hon Jimoh Kobere, were also in attendance.
After hours of explanation and engagement, the executive of the party reaffirmed their votes for the person who emerged at the shadow primary election conducted for four aspirants in the ward.
APC Chairman in Egbeda ward, Hon Jimoh Kobere emphasized the importance of obeying the decisions of the executive who have already voted their preferred candidate.
He appealed that attempts to reverse the votes of twenty two executives against one person each who voted the other candidates among the twenty five people that voted would be against the interests of justice, fairness and overall interest of the party for future elections.
Another stakeholder from the ward, Hon Deji Olufunwa said the executive and stakeholders have spoken in a unanimous voice and should not be changed.
He rather appealed to the former Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Matthew Kolawole, whose candidate lost to appeal to his candidate to accept the results in good fate in the interest of the party.
While making their contributions, Commander Jerry Omodara, former Chairman of the LGA, Hon Moses Olorunleke, Hon Alfred Bello and other stakeholders all appealed to the former Speaker to prevail on the aspirant who scored a single vote to accept the verdict as the will of the people.
They all emphasized that since election have been conducted and a preferred candidate has emerged with twenty two votes out of twenty five votes, it would be unreasonable and anti democracy for anyone to attempt to subvert the will of the people.
The executive members of the ward, after the meeting, appealed to Governor of the state, Alhaji Usman Ododo, to assist them for democracy to prevail in their ward.
They promised their continued loyalty to the Governor and the party.
