The proprietor of Lamak High School, Idah, Mr. Amodu, has reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to strict discipline, saying the school will continue to place academic standards and student welfare above sentiment.
Speaking on Friday during an emergency assembly attended by students and staff, Amodu said the school maintains a zero tolerance policy toward gross misconduct. The assembly was held as part of activities marking the end of academic engagements for the third term of the 2025/2026 session. He disclosed that more than five students had been expelled for involvement in sexual misconduct, describing the decision as necessary to preserve a safe, disciplined, and academically focused learning environment.
The school’s Principal, Mrs. Tochi Godwin, echoed the institution’s commitment to high moral and academic standards, emphasizing that discipline remains central to the school’s vision of producing responsible and exemplary graduates.
Amodu warned that any student found guilty of conduct that violates the school’s code of discipline would face severe sanctions, including expulsion where necessary. According to him, the school will not compromise its standards regardless of the individuals involved.
He also urged students to report any inappropriate or unhealthy relationships among their peers to school authorities. He said silence in the face of serious misconduct undermines the institution’s efforts to protect students and maintain order. He added that both involvement in prohibited sexual relationships and deliberate failure to report such incidents could attract expulsion under the school’s disciplinary policy.
The remarks underscore Lamak High School’s determination to enforce its rules consistently while fostering an environment where discipline, safety, and academic excellence remain paramount.
