The Kogi/Kwara/ Niger Customs Area Command said it generated N381 million between January and October, 2012.
The amount, representing 106 percent, exceeded the target of N360 million given to the command this year.
The Public Relations Officer of the Command, Mr. Felix Asiku, who stated this at the weekend in Minna, the Niger State capital, expressed hope that the command would, before the end of the year, generate more revenue to the N380 million it already generated.
He noted that in 2011, the command also recorded the same achievement, by exceeding its target of N360 million to the tune of N68.6 million.
Asiku explained that during the period under review, a lot was recorded in the areas of anti-smuggling activities, trade facilitation, physical infrastructural development and assisting in securing the country by carefully examining every procedure at the border stations.
The spokesman revealed that as result of the feat recorded by the command, the Customs Area Comptroller, Aminu Dangaladima, was recently awarded Comptroller-General of Customs? Gold Medal as the most improved command in revenue collection.
