The first runner-up in the just concluded All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship primaries in Kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has dissociated himself from the poster design insinuating that he will be contesting on the platform of Social Democratic Party, SDP, alonside fellow APC contestant, Engineer George Olumoroti Olusola.

Yahaya Bello debunked the insinuations while addressing members of #FairWin, a support group for Yahaya Bello Fairplus yesterday over the much circulated poster of himself and George Olumoroti Olusola under SPD.

Bello said it is obviously the handiwork of his opponents with the aim of playing down his overwhelming and growing political relevance in Kogi State under the platform of the great party, APC.

“I, Alh Yahaya Bello want to affirm that I am an APC member and would remain so. While I appreciate the supports and concerns of my fellow Kogites in the last primary election, I urge all of us to remain steadfast and wait for a decision and resolution that will be taken in the days/weeks ahead. Thanks and God bless”, he said in a statement.

While addressing supporters at his white house residence in Lokoja, on 30th August, 2015, Yahaya Bello thanked all his supporters for their love and believe in our struggle for a New Direction in Kogi State.

He said the process of the election which was supervised by His Excellency, Nasir El-Rufai Executive Governor of Kaduna State was a free, fair and credible election. He assured his supporters that in an election you must not necessarily win to be a winner and in this particular election we are all winners.

Speaking further he said we all know where the fault comes from. We don’t know before but they are exposed now. He said “those who said we were coming from no-where now they know we are coming from somewhere, those who said we were heading to no-where now they know we are heading to somewhere”.

Alh. Yahaya Bello therefore appealed to his supporters not to engage in any dirty fight. “Lets not fight anybody, lets not abuse anybody and lets keep no malice, this is going to be an intellectual warfare and I am promising you by the special grace of God we will defeat them”. Yahaya Bello said.

We therefore urge our teaming supporters to remain resolute as the struggle to rescue our state continues.
