The National Chairman of Network for Change and Good Governance (NCGG), Comrade Ismaila Yusuf Atumeyi, has declared that incumbent Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State will win his second term election with ease. He stated emphatically that God Almighty has endorsed Wada and nobody can remove him.

Atumeyi hinged his confidence on Wada’s modest achievements despite dwindling funds coming to the state from federation account.

According to Atumeyi, NCGG has reviewed all aspirants currently jostling to occupy the Lugard House and have come to a conclusion that Wada is the best option for Kogi state at the moment.

“NCGG is known across the 36 states of the federation and we do not support candidates out of sentiments or by impulsion. More importantly, I am from Kogi state and knows what is best for my dear state”, Atumeyi said.

“Wada is not a failure as been portrayed but mischief makers. The godly truth is that Wada has done his best in the current circumstances. He has been paying workers salary without default while also ensuring that pensioners were not left out. After paying salary what is left in government coffers is very little. Wada has used the left-over judiciously. Ask other aspirants what they intend to do differently with what is left after paying salaries. If they promise Kogites eldorado, then we have to be worried as these characters will end up not paying salaries if voted into power”, he added.

Atumeyi challenged politicians who are inciting the people against Wada on account that the state has not been filled with industries to show Kogites what they have done in their private capacity in this regard. He said he has visited 29 states with the NCGG and can say authoritatively that industrialised states like Imo, Anambra, Enugu and so on were lifted by their indigenes. He queries why the billionaire politicians from Kogi state has not deemed it fit to establish a branch of their numerous business empires in Kogi state.

“AVM Atawodi has numerous properties in Abuja, Smart Adeyemi owns best hotels in Kwara state, others like Omokore, Mohammed Ali, Isah Kutepa and ex-Ibrahim Idris are all billionaire businessmen who have not deemed it fit to establish in Kogi state. These men pay huge taxes to other states and come here every election year to abuse whomever is in government. Let these men bring investments to Kogi state and pay taxes to government and see if things won’t change radically in the state”.
