The National Youth Coalition of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Kogi State governorship election, Prince Abubakar Audu, is a known in-law of Alhaji Jibrin Isah Echocho, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspirant for the same election.

The group alleged that Audu deliberately planted Echocho in the PDP to scuttle the chances of other aspirants.

A statement jointly signed by Mr. Eleojo Ameh and Iselewa James, the group’s national coordinator and secretary yesterday in Abuja, alleged that some people loyal to Echocho had been planned to scuttle the PDP congress and primary election in the state.

“It is worthy of note that the APC candidate, Prince Abubakar Audu is a known in-law of Alhaji Jibrin Isah Echocho. The arrangement, according to reliable information, is to secure a good ground for Alhaji Abubakar Audu of the APC to emerge,” the statement alleged.

Responding, Audu’s spokesman, Comrade Dan Isah, said Audu remained a committed member of the APC, insisting that the former governor did not go into alliance with anyone.

“Of course they are in-laws, but it is the figment of imagination of some people that Prince Audu is sponsoring Echocho to destroy the PDP.”
