Electorates in Yagba–West Local Government Area of Kogi State have asked to remain resolute in their support for the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, in the forthcoming Governorship election.
Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi, gave the charge at a campaign rally in Odo-Ere, Yagba – West Local Government Area.
The Deputy Governor, described another term for Capt Idris Wada as a vote to move the State forward, urged the people of the area not to go back to the days of slavery and undignified molestation suffered by people in the state between 1999 – 2003.
Awoniyi described Capt Wada as humane and has respect and regard for the people of Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State, assured that another term for the Governor would consolidate on the provision of infrastructures which the area he noted has benefitted from.
While he assured that the welfare of the people of the area would top the priority of the Wada administration in the next term, he called for their votes to enable power rotate in 2019.
While he said he has remained a Deputy Governor that lives with them and they all know, having lived with them, Awoniyi, said he shares their aspiration and would continue to work with Capt Idris Wada to protect their interest.
The forthcoming Governorship election, Awoniyi explained is defining for the state, urged the people to remain focus, not to look back, but to ensure that the party wins overwhelming to secure the future of women and youths of the area.
