I once read the rendition of a particular elder I hold in high esteem about the tortoise. In the story, the tortoise was asked when he hope to return from a journey he was about to embark on. The wily tortoise responded that until and unless he is disgraced he will not come back home.

This sad avoidable situation was what played out on Sunday; 30th December, 2018 at St. Paul’s Anglican Cathedral, Iyara. The tortoise in this case is no other person but Distinguished Sen. Smart Adeyemi; a two time senator who represented Kogi West from 2007-2015. His third attempt ended in failure and agony but he has succeeded through mischief and manipulation to secure the ticket of his party, All Progressives Congress with the election a few weeks away.

Lately, his recruited cyberpunks have been trying to pool the wool over the people’s eyes but they will realize at the appropriate time, it is an exercise in futility. No matter how hard and persistent anyone tries, failure can never be portrayed to be success.

The wise and discerning quickly grasps and understand when a cruise is doomed due to shipwreck but in this case, the one who assumes the mammoth head of the elephant as alias remain obstinate because he cannot fathom life outside politics.

The incident at St.Paul’s Anglican Cathedral, Iyara is a divine confirmation of the agony and pain the announcement of Kogi West Senatorial election result will foist on some people.

And the congregation shouted a resounding AMEN to the prayer that affliction shall not rise a third time because the Lord will prove his awesomeness against Kogi’s Pharaoh and his ‘Elder boy’
