The Akanle Campaign Organisation has called on its supporters to ignore the current campaign of calumny been spread by some faceless agents that Dr. Toyin Akanle has defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The called was made by Prince Dayo Akanmode, Director General Akanle Campaign Organization in a press statement issued in Lokoja.
According to the statement the attention of the organization was drawn to malicious rumours that a bill board was erected in Kabba with the picture of Dr Akanle and Accord Party logo.
Part of the statement read: “They are at it again. Earlier today a report came to me that a bill board was erected in Kabba with Dr. Akanle’s picture and Accord Party logo.
“I quickly took action on this by sending one of our trusted and very vibrant youth resident in Kabba to move round to verify the rumour. He came back to tell me he did not see any thing of such. It has been the method of Dr Toyin Akanle’s detractors to fabricate lies to discredit the monumental impact he has made on the party with the sole aim of truncating his dream of a better Kogi West.
“This latest fabrication is meant to cover up the unprecedented and monumental fraud perpetrated at the purported Kabba senatorial primaries It is also a desperate attempt to paint Dr Akanle before the APC Appeal panel as desperate and disloyal party member. All these they are doing to weaken his case at the appeal panel. All these attempts will surely fail.
“Dr Toyin Akanle as a loyal party member has not thought of defecting to another party. He is waiting patiently for the out come of his appeal lodged with the party.
“We again appeal to our teeming supporters to remain patient vigilant and focused until we realize our dream for a better Kogi West.”
