A frontline politician in Kogi West senatorial district, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Isa Kutepa has thrown his weight behind the loud clamour by people of Yagba Federal constituency to  have one of their own elected as senator in 2015.

Kutepa’s tacit support is coming on the heels of obvious moves by incumbent Senator Smart Adeyemi to seek an unprecedented third term in the upper chambers.

Kutepa also debunked rumor making rounds that he will contest for the senate seat in 2015.

“I am not running for any political office at this point. I believe we have an understanding between the three federal constituencies in Kogi West. It is based on that understanding that Lokoja/Kotonkarfe produced senator for two terms; thereafter it shifted to Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu where it is now. I believe in the spirit of that understanding, it is the turn of Yagba”, he said

Kutepa however warned Yagba people to take their chance in 2015 or lose their slots to other zones indefinately.

He said, “it is the prerogative of Yagba people to take it or reject it. And if Yagba rejects it, it will then be thrown open to all, including Lokoja/Kotonkarfe. But i honestly think is fair that we respect the existing understanding.
