Your Excellency sir,
We the Yagba youths under the platform of Yagba Youths Vanguard have decided to communicate our appeal to you through this medium because of the rigid process of accessing you.
Your Excellency, the reason for this urgent letter from your ever reliable youths is based on our agitation and appeal to consider Kogi West senate candidate to come to Yagba federal constituency.
Sir, let me quickly take you on the memory lane; Kogi West has since 1999 produced 3 senators namely; Sen Tunde Ogbeha from Lokoja/Koto from 1999 to 2007, Sen Smart Adeyemi from Ijumu/Kabba-Bunu federal constituency from 2007 to 2015 and Sen Dino Melaye from 2015 till date.
Your Excellency, from the above analysis, only yagba has not represented the district at the senate.
Secondly Sir, I want to draw your attention to ponder on why for 12years now no Lokoja/Koto person has contested senate since 2007. Apparently, they are people of good conscience and possess the spirit of fairness and equity, having spent two terms they still leave the position for the other two constituencies to benefit same.
Sir, coming to Okun, where the players of politics seems greedy and selfish, Senator Smart has spent 2 terms in senate from Ijumu and Sentor Dino is currently in the senate from same Ijumu. As we speak, your excellency, you are aware that the duo are seeking re-election.
No doubts, Sen Smart is vibrant, articulate and out spoken but sir, a man who has benefited as a 2 term senator what else does he want from God or the masses? Even if you see him as credible, there are other credible people. There is still a constituency that have not benefited.
Your excellency, politics does not makes us loose our sense of fairness and judgement.
Even if there are arguments that Yagba has always contested with them and they have always emerged through the masses votes, yet where is space for the fear of God. Let’s remember the voting strength of Lokoja/Koto, the major decider of Kogi West election, but have refrained from contesting for 12 years.
Our appeal
1. That you may remember your promise to Yagba people at the Yagba Alive Rally in December 2017. You announced that you know what Yagba needs and you will give it to us i.e Senate. As a ‘talk and do’ governor, we look forward to the fulfilment of this.
2. That you should remember the doctrine of equity, fairness and justice and allow same speak for us in Yagba.
3. That having confirmed your benevolence, we beg that you consider Yagba for senate. We will never forget you. Your predecessor, H.E Alh Ibrahim Idris tried to deliver for Yagba people but couldn’t, but we believe you can and will sir.
4. That at the worst of all pressure, you should use your good office to power a level plain ground primaries which is the most ideal.
5. That your excellency should remember how God fought for you and please help the Yagba people. We will never forget you.
6. That you consider your effort to unite the party and do not allow favouritism that may cause further disparity and segregation.
The above, your excellency, we humbly appeal. Looking forward to your graciousness to reconsider we the Yagba.
