The Kogi commissioner for commerce and industry, Honourable Yabagi Bologi, has pledged to help create the market required by the state organic fertiliser company to remain afloat to aid in creating jobs for the citizenry.

He made the pledge after listening to an appeal by the management of the company over lack of patronage by local governments in the state in defiance of government directives.

Bologi said: “What you should expect is a turnaround; they have made us understand their challenges, our own responsibility is to ensure that we take up those challenges so that we can make progress. I can assure you that we are going to work hard when we go back home so that we will find that market since they said  production is not their problem it’s to get the market, that I can assure you.”

Kogi State Fertilizer Company currently produces 10,000 metric tonnes of organic fertilizer per year but suffers poor patronage owing to preference for inorganic fertilizers by local government administrators in the state.
