Kogi State Security Trust Fund and office of the state Auditor General have resolved to address issues of funding hampering effective service delivery in the ongoing fight against crime.
In line with this, the office of the State Auditor General has been tasked with responsibility of ensuring strict compliance of the statutory deduction of 1% from all contracts awarded by ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) of government for the State Security Trust Fund.
This resolution was the outcome of the interactive meeting between the management of the state security trust fund, permanent secretaries and directors of accounts of MDAs, organized by the Trust Fund in Lokoja.
Participants at the meeting lauded the initiative of the trust fund’s management and assured strict compliance to enable Kogi state maintain the front seat in securing lives and property of residents in the state.
Earlier in his remarks, the Executive Chairman, Kogi State Security Trust, Hon. Teina Abdulmalik, commended MDAs that were up to date in their deductions and encouraged others to emulate them, stressing that, the Trust Fund was complimenting the efforts of the state government in combating security challenges in the state.
Samari said one of the mandates of the Trust Fund is to establish and maintain a central logistic base for equipment, vehicles and other necessities for the use of Security agencies.
The establishment of the logistic base, he said, will no doubt serve as the driving force towards securing the state.
He commended Governor Yahaya Bello for his interest in securing lives and property of citizens of Kogi state.
