Kogi State Motorcycle riders Association has constituted a twelve-man acting executive to mann the affairs of the union for the next four years.
The election which took place at the union office Lokoja, had all the zonal chairmen in attendance.
Comrade Gimba Ibrahim emerged as the new state chairman of the union, while Comrade Umar Anass Upahi was elected as the secretary.
Others elected include: Comrade Mustapha Egah,deputy chairman, Jimoh Aminu, vice chairman, Abdul Yusuf,treasurer and Justice Sadiq Jimoh Auditor
Also elected are, Cyril Onalo, Asst Secretary; Kabir Tijjani, provost while comrade Ali Adamu would serve as the public relation officer.
In his acceptance speech, comrade Gimba Ibrahim thanked the members for the confidence reposed on him.
He assured them of his commitment to defend the interest of its members and urged them to corporate with the constituted authority: “as transporter we must abide by the roles and regulations guiding the union,we must respect the authorities, especially the law enforcement agencies,” he said.
Until his election following the death of Comrade Bamidele Olaniyan, the former state chairman,Comrade Gimba was the chairman Lokoja Local Government of the Union.
