A recent online publication disparaging the management of Kogi State University Anyigba has come to the notice of Kogi State Medical Student Association (KSUMSA). We, the medical students of the Kogi State University, publicly rebuke the article and disclaim the write up.
The act was childish and un-called for as we the students of this great institution do know that the school management, under the leadership of His excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello, is set out for the good and proper care of the student administratively and other wise.
We hereby enjoin the school management and the public to please disregard the said publication as we have nothing to do with it.
The medical students of the College of Health Sciences, Kogi State University hails Governor Yahaya Bello for the remarkable effort he has made towards ensuring that the college of health science is accredited.
Since the ‘White Lion’ of Kogi State approves FMC Lokoja as the take-off site for the accreditation of the medical school and also approved 1.6 billion naira for the permanent site in Anyigba, the joy in the medical hostel knows no bounds as the depressed medical students have been given a new found hope.
Recall that the new direction government of GYB transferred the first set of medical students and said that Kogi will hence forth produce it own medical Doctors. The Governor has backed his words with action.
The students are very grateful for his good work and effort so far, however, we plead with his excellency to accelerate the whole process of accreditation so as to meet the November Nigerian University Commission (NUC) deadline for the accreditation of the college of health science as next year is a political year.
Our hope is high, our faith is strong, we believe and we remain committed to  the new direction government, long live GYB.
