The Kogi State Government has denied a report that a staff of the government house allegedly broke into the office of the director general in charge of administration and carted away over N36 million naira.

It was alleged that the staff allegedly broke into the office at the Director General, Mallam Shaibu Oricha and stole the money.

The staff who was said to be in police custody, was arrested through the CCTV camera mounted in the office.

Governor Yahaya Bello’s Adviser in charge of Media and Publicity, Kingsley Fanwo said there was no theft at the government house.

“We are not aware of any such development; we don’t keep money in the office; we do online payment to all our clients. If anyone is in police custody, it might be for other reason but not linked to any money disappearing from any office in government house” he said.

Efforts to speak with the Police Public Relation Officer of the Kogi State Police Command, Mr. William Ayah to confirm the arrest proved abortive as his GSM line was switched off.
