Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Kolawole Matthew has praised the hitch-free staging of the Local Government delegates congress of the All Progressive Congress, APC held across the state to elect delegates for the forthcoming national conference of the party.

The Speaker, who spoke at Prestige Hotel, where the Kabba/Bunu Local government area delegate congress was held on Saturday, said the peaceful conduct was an indication that the party is united.

Despite hues and cries from some party caucuses who claimed the Congress has been canceled, it was conducted across the 21 council areas of the state.

And the Speaker believes the development shows that the party is better to strategize to continue its political dominance in the state.

He also flays report in some quarters that the congress had been canceled by the National Working Committee, stressing that the presence of INEC representatives, security operatives, and other political stakeholders were an indication that those peddling such rumours were out to destabilize the party by their falsehood.

While reeling out the result of Kabba/Bunu LGA council, the returning officer, Babalola Fabunmi announced that Mr. Jerry Omodara,  Bamidele Joloko, and Grace Obamo as elected delegates.

Though the trio were nominated unopposed the delegates still cast their votes for them.

Present at the Congress were party stalwarts which include the Honourable Commissioner for Agricultural Hon. Kehinde Oloruntoba, Hon. Moses Olorunleke, Chief Julius Arokoyo, Hon. Segun Olobatoke, party chairman, women leaders, and others.
