Kogi PPP Bureau, Stakeholders Brainstorm on Public-Private Partnership Intervention in Tertiary Education

The Kogi Bureau of Public Private Partnerships (BP3) team on PPP Gap/ Needs Assessment have continued to emphasize government’s readiness to partner private investors in the educational development of Kogi state particularly in tertiary institutions.

Government policy of integrated development in the area of education as enshrined in the New Direction policy of the current administration in the state has been explained to  stakeholders in the Kogi State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Idah.

The Director General of the Bureau, Arc. Roberts Achanya reiterated the desire of the Kogi state government under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello to create enabling environment for investors to partner in developing infrastructure in the state.

The BPPP team conducted Infrastructure assessment tour of the institution and identified administrative building, students hostels and Staff Housing as the possible areas of PPP intervention in the institution aside from the urgent need to immediately develop an infrastructure master plan.

He particularly appealed to the management of the institution to support the present government of Kogi State in its desire to move Kogi State into prosperity.

The DG also delivered solidarity and goodwill messages to the management team and institution from the Chief of Staff to  the Governor,  Hon.  Edward David Onoja and the Supervisory Commissioner,  Alhaji Asiwaju Idris Asiru,  whom he said have been most supportive in the quest to birth a world class PPP Office in the State.

In his address of welcome, the Acting Provost of the College  promised  to take advantage of opportunities the government is creating. He particularly thanked the BPPP team for their visit and assured  the government of the continued support of his institution.

The Special Adviser to the Kogi state Governor on Education, Hon. Comfort Alege assured the staff and management of the college that Kogi state under HE Yahaya Bello will celebrate great achievements in Education and sited the PPP option as one of the alternatives needed to support the desired accelerated development.
