Kogi Poll: Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Omebije Promises to be a Listening Governor

A former Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly and governorship aspirant, Rt Hon Emmanuel Omebije has promised to be a listening governor, if elected.

Omebije made the promise on Friday at a special  session organised  by Kogi State Good Governance Advocacy Group at Lokoja.

The Peoples Domocratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant promised to run an all-inclusive government by carrying everyone along. He said that his priority would be infrastructure development.

“I will carry everyone along as a governor, i will concentrate on job creation and capital projects,” he said.

Omebije also said that he would give education the desired attention if elected.

“We will also be looking at the area of empowering the youth. The private sector is the engine of growth and development; so opportunities will be given to private sector by ensuring easy way of doing businesses in Kogi,’’ he added.

He said that it was sad that the country’s youths were seeking greener pastures outside the country due to bad leadership.

“It is a shame our youths are seeking greener pastures outside the country. In spite of our human and natural resources we are still poor due to bad leadership.’’

The governorship aspirant urged the group to hold their leaders accountable by participating actively in politics.

“They should be active in politics by holding their leaders accountable by teaching politicians the truth and by offering themselves for political positions,’’ he stated.
