Chairman of the electoral panel, Mr. Ayodele Oyadeyi while announcing the result of the party’s primary, said all the 120 delegates from the 21 LGAs affirmed Mr. Yusuf Dantalle.
Oyadeji, who doubles as the National Secretary of the party, described Allied Peoples Movement (APM) as a citizens focused political party that provides a platform for inclusive equal participation in governance, socio-economic development, political representation, access to opportunities and previledges as Nigerian citizens.
In his acceptance speech, Dantalle promised to represent the party very well. He promised to improve the welfare of workers and pensioners in the state, adding that the issue of salary will be solved without problem
He said that the welfare of citizens in both formal and informal sectors would be given priority because it is a healthy citizenry that would engender sustainable development in every society therefore, capacity enhancement programmes and projects would be embarked upon for positive impact.
“It is obvious that with the growing population in the country, across states, federal government resources would not be sufficient for the development of the state therefore there is need to think out of the box to increase internally generated funds to support state projects to engender service delivery to the citizens in every state in the country, and in this case, Kogi state.
“A PPP model would be created to support inflow of resources through infrastructure development across sectors,” he said.
Dantalle stated that APM will domesticate its manifesto in Kogi state to proof to Nigerians that good governance is possible in Nigeria.
