The Kogi State Police Command says it has recovered two AK49 rifles, three magazines containing 109 live ammunitions and other exhibits from some fleeing suspects.
Spokesman of the command, William Aya, in a statement yesterday said consequent on intelligence that some hoodlums were sighted with weapons around Isanlu area of the state, the Commissioner of Police, Ali A. Janga, directed the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Isanlu to carry out an aggressive stop and search in the area.
He said during a stop and search along Isanlu/Ijowa road, the police intercepted a red Honda motorcycle with registration number KUJ 509 QR conveying three persons.
Aya said in the course of interrogation, the suspects fled into the bush leaving behind their motorcycle and a sack containing some items.
He said efforts were on to arrest the fleeing suspects.
