The immediate past State Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Emmanuel Egwu reportedly led thugs to disrupt House of Assembly primaries in Idah, Kogi State.

Egwu, who recently resigned from his position as Secretary of the party at state level, is an aspirant for House of Representatives in Idah/Ibaji/Ofu/Igalamela-Odolu Federal Constituency.

While resigning, Emmanuel Egwu left a mole, Mr Sunday Adaji in the party secretariat. Sunday Adaji is the Organisation Director at the PDP secretariat, Lokoja. Egwu in collusion with Adaji ensured that the list of adhoc delegates were not released for yesterday’s primaries. Also, they both ensured the ballot papers meant for Idah primaries were incomplete.

Inspite of the fraudulent collusion between Emmanuel Egwu and Sunday Adaji, Egwu still led a group of scary touts to harrass party faithfuls who had assembled to conduct free and fair primaries.

Emmanuel Egwu was joined in the violence byPaul Ogwu Ukwenya, the vice chairman of Idah LGA, Alhaji Shaibu Abu, the PDP  chairman in Idah and Ukwubile Ochijenu, a House of Assembly Aspirant.

One finds it difficult to understand why these unscrupulous and notorious politicians want to lord it over the people against their wishes. Is it by force to serve people?

These discredited leaders are well known for use of force and promotion of thuggery in Idah LGA.

We call on party leaders at state and national level to call these men to order so as not to set Idah on fire. His Excelllency, Captain Idris Ichala Wada has done alot and spent alot to rid our dear Idah and indeed Kogi State of political touts and criminals while these undesirable elements and merchants of violence led by Emmanuel Egwu are bent on taking our dear Idah back to slavery. We, the true lovers of Idah are united against satanic politicians. We are resolute in our determination to cleanse Idah.
