Kogi NDE Disburses Loans to Recharge Card Vendors, Others

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Kogi State has disbursed loan to recharge card vendors and beans cake (Akara) sellers, with each getting of N20,000, under its Micro-Enterprises Enhancement Loan Scheme.

The Kogi State NDE Director, Abdulkadir Oba-Sa’adu, who disclosed this, weekend, said the 100 beneficiaries were drawn from the 21 local government areas of the state.

He stated that the scheme was aimed at enhancing the capacity of micro-business operators to expand their businesses, noting that they lacked the collateral security to access loans from financial institutions.

Oba-Sa’adu said the scheme was designed by government to reduce unemployment through soft loans to small scale business operators, urging beneficiaries to make judicious use of the loans to expand their businesses.

Also speaking, the Director, Small Scale Enterprises Development Department at the NDE headquarters in Abuja, Mr Jibrin Aye, reiterated the determination of the directorate to fashion out more job-creation schemes to reduce poverty and unemployment.

Aye urged other stakeholders to collaborate with the NDE to create more jobs for the teeming unemployed youths across the country.
