A Lokoja-based journalist, Comrade Abubakar Suleman, has predicted that a community-based politician will emerge Governor of Kogi state in 2023.

Abubakar made this disclosure while addressing youths in his Lokoja community on Friday.

He said Kogi state is ripe for a ‘home-grown’ Governor, adding that his dream for a a better Kogi state must be realised in 2023.

He said Kogi needs a Governor who lives with the people in the next political dispensation.

The veteran journalist argued that a Lagos, Abuja or Port-Harcourt-based political cannot fully understand the problems faced by the people, talk less of proffering workable solutions.

“This is the time for every Kogite to take their destinies in their hands. We have had enough of our people in diaspora as governors, let’s try one of us who has lived beside you.

He called on the people at the grassroots to be steadfast and be ready to “elect their own Governor”, instead of relying on those who does not know their pains and challenges.
