The Former NFF President and frontline All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Kogi State, Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi has revealed his plan to partner billionaire businessman, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President Dangote Group of Companies in areas of sports, if elected.
In a statement signed by his spokesperson Sylvester Ojogbane, Alhaji Sani Lulu said: “It is very evident that Alhaji Dangote is very passionate about football, that he once muted the idea of once buying into Arsenal Football Club in England. We also know that he has one of his biggest business conglomerates in Obajana, Kogi state, we are not going to wish such interest and passion away in Kogi state, we would provide him an enabling environment to further enhance this interest in supporting Kogites in Sports generally.”
Lulu whose tenure as NFF President saw to the rapid development in the game of football in Nigeria, said the potentials available in Kogi State has remained untapped, but will experience an geometrical growth immediately he emerge as Governor of the State.
Lulu made this assertion in Ankpa during his campaign tour of the area.
He commended Dangote’s investment in Okaba coal mine, which he said is the greatest coal deposit in West Africa and capable of generating power for the use of the whole of North Central states.
Lulu pledged to use the power of football in partnership with Aliko Dangote to genuinely transform the state and nurture a football team that will be the best in the world.
He insisted that Dangote would be supported to develop both the human and infrastructural facilities in the state to the benefits of the people.
