Some All Progressives Congress (APC) state lawmakers seeking for a replacement of Kogi Assembly Speakership position are reportedly making overtures to seal deal with the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engr. Musa Wada.

An impeccable source in the state Assembly said one of the APC lawmakers sent a message to Wada, the PDP candidate for November 16t governorship election in Kogi state, assuring him of maximum support in the election.

The source further revealed that the lawmakers made the move because they believe the poor performance of Governor Yahaya Bello might change the political calculations in the state if eventually voted out by the majority of the people.

He noted that the three lawmakers elected on the platform of APC, one from the central and two from Kogi west, are seeking a deal with PDP candidate to guarantee them principal officer positions in the new equation.

According to the source, the deal is specifically to see that some other lawmakers support Wada while he is expected to return the gesture so that they can replace the Speaker with a member from the central part of the state since the PDP has zoned governorship to the East, Deputy to west and Central likely to produce the State Assembly Speaker.

He refused to mention the names of the lawmakers but added that they had sent emissaries to Wada. The emissaries sent to Wada reportedly include two former House of Assembly members, one traditional ruler and one of the Governor’s appointees.

According to the source, the delegation met with Wada in Abuja on Tuesday to workout their terms. The law makers promised to work for Wada’s emergence as governor on November 16.
