A group known as Critical Stakeholders of the PDP in Lokoja 11 Constituency has condemned the defection of a member of the House of Assembly representing the constituency Hon Idris Ndako to All Progressive Congress (APC) calling him “a good riddance to bad rubbish.”
Hon. Idris Ndako who until his defection on the floor of the house, was a PDP leader from the area which, the group said was borne out of “greed and selfishness” which it said did not come to them as a surprise.According to Abuh Usman and Sunday Obed , Chairman and Secretary of the group “ The rumoured defection of Hon Idris Ndako you will all recall had been in the public domain over a period of time. Similarly, the cost attraction that aided the defection is no longer news while his ambition to become the speaker was not hidden.
“Furthermore, since the signed communiqué by three wards of Lokoja 11 constituency endorsing the zoning of the next House of Assembly seat to Kupa South was signed and adopted, the selfish intent of Hon. Idris Ndako for a second time, became manifest, thus, he had to accept the offers made to him by the powers –that- be to cross carpet.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Hon. Idris Ndako, was a product of zoning, and his emergence as member of 6th Assembly became possible by virtue of people of strong character keeping to their integrity and agreement.
“We therefore wish to make it abundantly clear that his defection for selfish motive is good riddance to bad rubbish and we are happy he has off loaded himself in good time. We are now more comfortable that one mole within our ranks has exited himself to be joined with his likes.
“For us in Lokoja 11 Constituency of Lokoja PDP, we’re not perturbed by this defection that has no electoral value of any iota of serious consequence.
“If the said popularity of Hon Idris Ndako is certain as is being insinuated in some quarters, we would have expected him to test his popularity, remain within the party that gave him his present platform of relevance, and see if he can pick the party’s ticket. But since he has chosen a soft landing, we’ are consoled by the fact that time will prove to us who is popular.
“While we sympathize with Hon Ndako over his recent short sighted decision, moving from certainty to uncertainty, joining a party that is already widely rejected in Kogi State, we are not surprised, knowing that his deficiencies as a politician would not make him to understand political time and seasons.
“To our members in the PDP especially those in Lokoja and Lokoja 11 Constituency in particular, we commend your steadfastness, resoluteness and in your unwavering support and standing by the party in the midst of challenging times, where hardship and poverty has been afflicted on us by the APC. “ We call on you all to remain supportive, as the end of our suffering as a people is very close by. Let it be stated that our party is now more than ever before more united and focused in Lokoja11 constituency, and we will continue to work for the collective interest of the people.
Attempts by our correspondent to get Hon. Ndako’s reaction to the allegations by the group proved abortive.
