Kogi Govt Donates N6million to Family of Late APC Women Leader

Kogi state government has presented a N6 million cash donation to the family of the late Kogi East APC divisional women leader, late Mrs. Mariam Egbunu.

The donation was made on Tuesday during an official visit of the government to the family at their country home in Ajaegbe Abocho, Dekina local government area of the state.

Presenting the donation on behalf of Governor Yahaya Bello, the Secretary to State Government, Mrs Folashade Ayoade said the late women leader was a committed party woman who gave her best for the progress of the party when she was alive.

Late Mrs Egbunu died in October 2020 after a brief illness.

The SSG explained that the donation was ratified by the executive council of the state.

“We are here to appreciate the family and commiserate with you. The state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello appreciates her supports to the state.

“We share in your grief, burden and sorrow. The late Divisional Women leader was a committed and loyal party member who played her part well,” the SSG said.

She prayed God almighty to keep, sustain and comfort the entire family.

A daughter of the deceased political leader, Mrs Ademu Ojonuba appreciated the effort of the state government for their kind gesture and also pleaded with the government to remember some of the deceased children who are unemployed graduates.

The SSG, while responding, urged the children to get their curriculum vitae ready and promised that as soon as any opportunity comes, those who are qualified will be gainfully employed.

In the entourage with the SSG was the state Auditor General, Yakubu Okala and the Senior Special Assistant on Electronic Media, Mrs. Billie Avoyi Nwogu.
