Former executives of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Okehi Local Government Area have insisted that the viral media report about their defection to the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi state is not factual and nothing short of the truth.

This was disclosed on Thursday by Mr Sadiq Salihu during a meeting with Comrade Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege (also known as Fancy) where the former SDP members pledged absolute loyalty to the All Progressives Congress and its governorship candidate, Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman (OAU).

The former SDP Executives who are obviously irked, bemoaned the unfruitful attempt of the candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Mr Muri Ajaka to compel them to support his failed governorship bid in a political party that they had dumped immediately after the last general election.

The former SDP executives posited that they had no recent meeting with Ajaka or any of his representatives, and in the same vein described the act of flying their old pictures as flagrant mischief and distortion of reality geared at confusing unsuspecting members of the public.

In his response, Comrade Fancy expressed appreciation to them for taking the bold steps in debunking the erroneous message circulated by members and candidates of the political party whose stock in trade is to churn out unfounded stories to discredit the people and government of Kogi State.

He noted that the party parading a weak horse is desperately claiming an unrealistic strength and acceptance in the forthcoming governorship election.

While admonishing them to remain focused and unwavering in their belief and support for the APC, Comrade  Fancy assured them of inclusiveness in governance when Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman assumes office next year.

Some of the former SDP  Executives that spoke during the meeting were the former chairmen forum for Okehi LGA SDP Mr Sadiq Salihu, Mr Jaspa Ohize, Former Ward Chairman SDP for Oboroke Uvete 2, Mr Uhuotu Audu aka Bento, Mrs Sule Rafatu Former SDP Women Leader for Ikuehi Ward and Mr MomohJimoh Shuaibu former secretary forum secretary for Okehi LGA SDP.

In a similar vein, the state appointees from Eika District of Okehi LGA held a strategic meeting with Comrade Fancy ahead of the governorship election in their quest to garner massive support and votes for the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the forthcoming governorship election.

Hon Abdulmalik Fatimah who is the Adavi LGA Council Leader led the Adavi LGA Councilors representing the eleven wards of the council. They came on a solidarity visit where deliberations bordering on the progress of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) were discussed and plausible resolutions were adopted.

Comrade Fancy while rounding up the activities for the day received several groups and personalities drawn from across Kogi State who came on solidarity visit.
