Your Excellency.

I want to remind you of the importance of the next Guber election in the state and what it represents. Your candidature of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in this year’s election rather than calls for celebration has rather taken the state backward and destroyed all the APC stands for in the political realm of the state.

As an individual, our people have no issue about your contestation because you have all the constitutional requirements to contest for the candidature of any political platform you so wish but the main issue is how you were foisted on the people by your godfather, the governor of the state.

One would rather have thought that after the primary election and with the cry of disapproval of the process leading to your selection as the candidate of the party, APC, you would have reflected on ways of bringing everybody together accepting the fact that the process of your emergence was not transparent and show remorse but no, boasting in the process that you are the richest among all the aspirants. HABA.

Your recent boast that you are the richest among the candidates on display jostling for the lord lugard house as the governor of the state even more makes a mockery of your candidature. For those of us who have followed keenly your trajectories in life we know vividly that your boast about your wealth agrees with what we have known about you.

We have known since your appointment as auditor-general for local local government by the Bello administration that you were the conduit pipe of all the financial crimes committed by this administration against the people of the state.

Indeed, what have you done to claim that you are the richest politician on display among those jostling to be governor of Kogi state? We know also that all your life you worked in NEPA as a junior staff and was retrenched when you were serving at the Kotongora substation and later worked as the state auditor-general for local government before you were selected to contest for the candidature of the APC in the next Guber election by your benefactor, governor Yahaya Bello.

The answers to this claim by you is now a burden that you must come clean and explain to the citizens of Kogi state.

I want to assure you that the next guber election in Kogi state is purely about the people and future of our state and not about your claim to unsubstantiated wealth. The people of the state are now politically mature and sophisticated to know those who represents the hope in leadership they crave for and I don’t think you are the one. The next election represent a seeming political war between the vested interest against our people on one side and all well meaning citizens of the state who are willing to use their votes to reclaim their land from those who want to turn it to their estate as represented by your candidature.

I want to assure you that the voice of the people is the voice of God. The people wish must be done, I bet you.One would rather think that after the primary election and with the cry of disapproval of the process leading to your selection as the candidate of the party you would have reflected on ways of bringing everybody together accepting the fact that the process was not transparent and show remorse but no.

Your recent tirade have shown that you are after all not ready for leadership because you are now seen by all well meaning citizens of the state as a representative, stooge, crony and disciple of the old ways of doing things under the Yahaya Bello regime which we pray everyday that God should help fasten the day our people would be free from his clinge.

A leader is a dealer in hope and you are not that hope dealer we seek. Our people would use the next guber election in the state to seek for freedom, unity, developments in all its ramifications, progress and meritocracy. We will retribute through our votes those vested interest and rent seeking political cleavages that have moved us hundred steps backward in our quest for genuine democratic dispensation and take our state back.

I think your candidature is a waste of time because our people have realized that you are part of those vested and rent seeking cleavages whose political relevance must be destroyed but through democratic means.

Nobody is bigger than his people and certainly not you. We shall outlast all your antics and the people would ask you all to account. Our people must be free and that freedom starts from the this election by the victory of the people’s candidate.

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,
Musa Wada
