Kogi Gov’ship: Muri Ajaka Accepts Elders’ Unanimous Choice as Consensus Candidate

One of the major governorship contenders in the November 11, 2023 election in Kogi state, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, has expressed gratitude to the elders and people of the state for finding him worthy of the state’s top seat.

Hon. Yakubu Murtala Ajaka was unanimously endorsed as the consensus governorship candidate for the upcoming gubernatorial elections in the state on Saturday. 

In a message to the people of Kogi State, Ajaka expressed his deep gratitude for their trust in him and emphasized that his selection was not the result of a competition, but rather a unanimous agreement.

Hon. Ajaka said he sees himself as a mere vessel for the aspirations of the people of Kogi and believes that it is time to set aside personal interests and work together for the greater good.

He noted that the fact that he was chosen by consensus reflected a fundamental philosophical principle that collective action can lead to the greater good.

Hon. Ajaka, who acknowledged that the challenges ahead cannot be overcome by a single person or group, called on Kogites to work together united in their vision for the progress and prosperity of Kogi State.

He emphasized that this requires humility and an understanding that they are all interconnected and interdependent.

Hon. Ajaka said his goal is not just to win the election, but to restore the soul of Kogi State. He stressed that this is not about any specific region or religion but about the well-being of all Kogites, adding that it as a call to action that demands their best selves, their highest ideals, and their deepest commitment.

Although many are eager to know the political party platform on which Ajaka will achieve his goals, he asked for their patience as he and his team work diligently and strategically to choose a winning platform. He stressed that progress is often difficult and requires resilience, courage, and patience.

Hon. Ajaka expressed his deep gratitude for the support and trust of the people of Kogi and promised to serve with utmost dedication and sincerity.

He called on Kogites to come together as one people, united in their purpose and vision for the progress and development of Kogi state.
