Deputy National Publicity Secretary and a member of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, has expressed confidence that his name will be on the ballot paper for the party during the November 11 Kogi governorship election.

The national leadership of APC had on Monday forwarded Ahmed Usman Ododo’s name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the party’s governorship candidate for Kogi.

However, in a statement titled: “Kogi guber primary: Justice quest continues,” Ajaka appealed to his supporters to be calm, stating he has initiated the necessary mechanisms to ensure justice is served.

The statement reads:

“I bring you the latest update on our quest for justice. While the battle may not be over, we have initiated all necessary mechanisms to ensure that our voices are heard, and justice is served.

“I implore you to remain patient, stay steadfast in prayers, and maintain absolute trust in our principal. This journey to freedom may be a long and arduous one, but with your unwavering support and commitment, we will emerge victorious.

“Let us all fasten our seat belts and embark on this journey together, with no retreat or surrender in sight. I am confident that with your continued support, I will be on the ballot come November 11, 2023.”

Ajaka and seven other aspirants are challenging the emergence of Ododo as the party’s flag bearer.
