Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has congratulated Governors Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State and Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State on their victories at the Supreme Court on Monday, describing it as well deserved.
Bello, in a statement issued on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Muhammed, said the verdict of the panel of Justices of the Supreme Court, affirming Ganduje and Lalong as the validly elected governors of Kano and Plateau States respectively has laid to rest all the legal fireworks that trailed the earlier mandate given to the duo by the people of their states.
He described the Supreme Court verdict as victory not only for Ganduje and Lalong but for the entire ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) family across the federation.
Bello described Ganduje and Lalong as strong pillars in the ruling APC, adding that their enormous role in the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the last presidential election could not be over emphasized.
“With your victories at the Supreme Court, you both can now fully settle down to face the business of governance and delivery of more dividends of democracy to the good people of Kano and Plateau states.
“I urge the good people of Kano and Plateau States to give Governors Ganduje and Lalong the needed supports and cooperation to enable them consolidate on the laudable projects and programmes started as well as those they plan to embark upon for the overall good of the people,” the governor said in the statement.
