Kogi Governor Adopts AiT Reporter as His Son

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state has announced his decision to adopt Africa Independent Television (AiT) reporter on the state, Jeremiah Ocheme as his son.

The Governor made this known at the 2020 end of year dinner and awards hosted by the Kogi State Government House Press Corps in Lokoja on Wednesday.

He commended Ocheme and his colleagues for the organizing the maiden edition of the annual get together and charged them to adhere to the ethics of journalism.

Ocheme, who was the chairman, planning committee for the event, assured the Governor that the negative publicity which the state has suffered in the past will be changed.

The AiT reporter commended the Governor for appointing three members of the press corps as his aides, describing it as signatures of his benevolence and confidence in journalists.

Governor Bello was conferred with a meritorious award for his unusual stance during the COVID-19 pandemic.
