Kogi Electorate Will Vote Massively for APC in 2019 – Speaker

The Speaker Kogi State House of Assembly Prince Mathew Kolawole has expressed optimism that the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) will come out victorious in the forthcoming general election in 2019.
Kolawole made this known while featuring on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) weekly program, ‘People and Politics’.
He lauded the national leadership of the party under President Muhammadu Buhari for its achievement in the last three and half years. He expressed confidence that Kogi electorate will vote massively for the ruling APC in 2019.
“Our party has come to stay by the special grace of God. Victory is sure for us in 2019. Since assumption of office in 2015, the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) has recorded remarkable achievements in the lives of many Nigerians.
“Is it in economic reforms, security, health, judiciary, civil service, transportation, infrastructure or other sectors, the APC has written her name in gold. Nigerians can attest to this fact. I am optimistic that victory is ours for the APC in 2019,” he said.
On his chances to win the seat for Kabba Bunu in the Kogi State House of Assembly come 2019, the speaker said; “My good work in the last three years for the people of Kabba Bunu will speak for itself. My people love me as their interest is first in my mind since becoming a lawmaker in the Kogi State House of Assembly. I have really achieved a lot since assuming the position of a state lawmaker in health, empowerment, sport, education, infrastructure, and many more.
“I have empowered over 50,000 people in my constituency. Doing this is what I love because it gives me joy. I enjoy helping people and that is why am always happy when people around me are happy.
“Many of my constituents are benefiting from my skill acquisition program, I have provided sewing machines, dryers, farm implements for our farmers and many more for my people which I cannot mention now because of our time. In summary, serving my people is why am here in the Kogi State House of Assembly.”
In the educational sector, Kolawole also hinted  that, under his first term in office as a state lawmaker, he has  enrolled over 500 students  for the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC), National Examination Council (NECO), and the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The lawmaker who emphasized that his constituents are also benefiting from his health care program. He said he has sank over 17 bore hole and repair over 22 in Kabba Bunu aimed at providing portable drinking water for his people.
While enjoining Kogite to be dedicated in working for the development of the State, the speaker also reminded the general public that he wasn’t born with a silver spoon hence they should always work hard to get to where they always envisage in life.
On sport, the speaker who is a major stakeholder in Kogi State hinted that, plans are under way to organize inter-school competition which will help develop and discover raw talent that will represent Kogi and Nigeria in both national and international competition.
According to him, under his watch as the speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, over 20 bills have been passed into law, several assented to by the executive and over 100 motion moved on the floor by members of the house.
While lauding the harmonious relationship between the executive and the legislature, Kolawole explained that the 25  lawmakers in the sixth assembly have been relating  cordially despite their party affiliations.
“In Kogi State house of Assembly, you won’t know the difference between the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the People Democratic Party (PDP). We are all working as a team with the aim of making  laws that will drive the state to an enviable height.
“I have been able to create that forum where lawmakers thinks above party lines, but put the interest of the state first. We commend the executive governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his good work in the State.
“Our prayers is that, God in his infinite mercy will continue to strengthen him to continue his good work in Kogi State. For us in the house, we will continue to support the executive towards effective implementation of their policies for the good of our dear state,” he added.
