The educational system in my dearest country I must say is collapsing irrespective of the tiers of Government and level of education. No state grows without substantive or consistent education. “Education they say is the bedrock of any nation’s development”

Your Excellency sir, I must say that you came into government at a crucial time in the life of our dear state, as I must say I know that you inherited a dying system not just in the area of education but in systems of the state, my concern this morning on the education system as it most affect the downtrodden.

For month before the exit of the PDP led administration that you took over, our primary schools have been on strike, its teachers did not receive consistent salary. Your Excellency, as I have earlier mentioned the fault is not totally yours, but what an average citizen like me looks on to is a new direction government that will bring the desired change we need to our door step, the farmer in the village may not know how to read to understand the policies of government, but he is happy and carried along if his child leaves home every morning to school and comes home to bring in improvements as regard his level of education.

The primary school is the elementary school, grade school, grammar school, a school for young children; usually the first 6 or 8 grades. (Word web). The United Nations Millennium Development Goal 2 is to achieve universal primary education by the year 2015, by which time they aim to ensure that all children everywhere regardless of race or gender, will be able to complete. While the sustainable development Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning obtaining a quality education is the foundation to improving peoples live and sustaining development (U.N SDG).2015 Have come and gone, but man’s inhumanity to man still continues as today most of if not all our primary schools have been on strike till date, an average kogites hope for educating his child lies in the public schools, as the un properly monitored private schools peg school fees at will without considering the plight of the average kogi family, by capitalizing on the challenges of education we are facing.

Over the years lot and lots policies were introduced, should I say that they are not properly managed or the corruption that is eating deep into our fabric is the course of the failure of these said principles, one thing must lead to another, what we want now is a state of emergency on our primary education, the dying of this sector is worrisome and detrimental to the educational future of our state.

Suggestions…
A committee should be set up to look into the challenges of this all important sector and get rid of all whose stock in trade is to see to the downfall of our education sector and other sectors.

Try as much as possible to give priority to the payment of the teacher’s salary as over the years they have been neglected.

As much as possible deviate from the usual politics praying with the sector by past administrations, as this sector is the future of our state.

Sympathize with the masses who cannot afford to pay the high school fees of our extorting private schools.
Monitor the standards of both private and public schools.

Finally, I wish to commend some of your achievements like the restoration of peace in the state assembly, the attraction of foreign investors to state, and appointment of young men into positions of authority, that particularly give hope to the leaders of tomorrow and I hope they don’t disappoint you by disappointing us. May almighty God continue to protect, promote and guide your footsteps. AMIN.

THANKS.
