Put the constituency as top priority, and every senatorial aspirants is considered and rated based on the current economic and social necessities nets the people. A deep knowledge of our wants and a sure strategies capable of its remedy are what distinguished one candidate from another.
This piece, however, became very importance owing to the unemphasizable relevance of the decision of the generality. I am talking about the masses whom every candidates vies to represent. For umpteenth time, they have united in one voice towards the candidacy of Dr Victor Alewo Adoji.
Therefore, it would be very inane if political stakeholders, activists and so on turns deaf ears to what the people want. They have without fear or favor pointed at Dr Victor as their preferred senatorial candidate comes 2019.
Therefore, can senator Aidoko, Echocho and all other aspirant be fair enough by endorsing Dr. Victor Alewo Adoji? Can they take posterity into cognizance and concede to this clarion call? What about the democratic space we are trying to deepen? Could they be fair enough to play this historic role?
For the avoidance of doubt, every nooks and crannies of Igala/Bassa have meritoriously endorsed Dr Victor. Religious bodies, sociopolitical groups, NGOs, coalition of political parties, Political stakeholders, market women, farmers, social media/political activists, Youths and even outsiders have all keyed in to his mandate. To them, he is the most qualified candidate for Kogi East comes 2019. Even the respective homes of these aspirants are not left out of the unprecedented endorsement.
Dr Victor Alewo on his part has displayed unparalleled role towards his mandate. The spree of first hand projects initiated so far says it all. First, the skill acquisition program that has lucratively engaged thousands of youths off the street is a feat exclusive of Dr Victor Alewo Adoji. No aspirant has ever done this before or during campaign.
The Igala/Bassa unity cup which was won by Igala mela Odolu team is another exclusive feet. It would have the three best players sponsored abroad for international trial apart from the various categories of gifts. No one has ever thought of this. Even the so called governor’s cup does not step beyond mere cash gift. And it’s in most cases, politically intrigued game where winners are selected before the competition.
Ofakaga student scholarship scheme is another exclusive feat. Under this scheme, Dr Victor Alewo Adoji has been a major sponsor of students in various categories across over 24 communities since 2005.
For more clarifications; the communities are:- Idah-Iyogbo-Ugwolawo-Umomi-Ejule-Okele-Ofakaga, Ojejini-Okabo-Agbeji-Anyigba-Egume-Aloji-Ikpakpala-Odu -Ochele-Odu okpakili-Ebeje Owala-Oganenigu-Odenyi-Alloma-Ogwugwu-Alagalani-Imane-Enabo-Ofugo-Abejukolo Ife.
Please do your findings and prove me wrong.Now, imagine the distance between 2005 and 2019 and tell me whether DVVA’s Senatorial aspiration is borne out of selfishness or the burden to liberate Kogi East. Please no sentiment.
Let’s learn further. Dr Victor Adoji has also achieved greatly in terms of remuneration for our civil servants most especially in Education sector. Currently, over one thousand teachers across Olamaboro/Dekina are on his payroll. Now, the essence of these is to provide financial succor to the selfless but abandoned civil servants who works tirelessly to ensure a well developed Kogi state. This is another feat exclusive to Dr Victor Alewo Adoji.
If you ask me, the current senator should have been very proactive on this. But what we are getting instead is legal squabbles here and there.
Surprisingly, the lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial districts has fought the state government over insensitive non payment of salaries on several occasions. He has also led his colleagues into donating several relief materials to the civil servants who were already committing suicide as at then. Had it been Aidoko’s voice was added, I am sure there would be improvement by now.
These among others are the humanitarian gestures exclusive to DVAA’s innovative movement.
In general;
Dr Victor Alewo Adoji is a custodian to countless orphans, widows and the less privileges across the Senatorial districts and beyond. Go to the major institutions of learning across the state and you will be deeply convinced.
Mention a hospital in Kogi East and the state at large where Dr. Victor has not intervened to pay for a patient’s medical bill. Perhaps, provide health facilities. And I will be sure to re-write this post. Name any orphanage home, humanitarian organization that have not encountered DVAA and I will rest my case.
DVAA has also provided shelter to thousands of Kogi Easterners both at home and outside. I remember the case of a widow whose house, the rain storm destroyed. Victor did not only built for her, she was financially empowered in Ogugu to start a petty business. Today, this woman own a car. Her son has graduated from a renowned University in Nigeria.
Back to the city. I have lost count of Igala sons and daughters that are gainfully employed by or through Dr Victor Alewo Adoji. Those in self employment are too numerous to mention. Now, it might also interest you to know that Dr Victor Alewo Adoji is an employer of labor. He has used his business to engage hundreds of Igala/Bassa indigenes.
Politically, Dr Victor Alewo Adoji has played a significant roles in the political lives of many Kogites. Even some of the aspirants were the major beneficiaries of his benevolent offering in the past. As a matter of fact, one of the major aspirants told me via a phone call recently to confess that, his hands are tied. Otherwise, he has no reason contesting for the Senatorial seat with Victor.
His words; “Victor is a lover of all. He will stand for you where necessary regardless of your background or status. He is a brother, friend and a role model for us.” In summary, he said and I quote “please, keep doing the good work for him.”
First of all, sir, please accept my sincere apologies for publicizing a supposed secret conversation. But fellow Kogi Easterners, rarely would a political aspirant testifies of his rival’s awesomeness in Nigeria’s political terrain and at this critical moment.
Although, Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos recently endorsed Babajide Sanwolu- the incoming governor of Lagos, there are circumstances that trail that endorsement.
Let me also punch this that they are some people forcing certain candidate on us because of what they stand to gain. But to such people, Kogi East must be free.
Victor’s social activities as seen above is distinctive and the blueprint is unequaled. He has made it clear that if his legislative impact is not felt after six months, he should be recalled. He is also ready to sign a memorandum of understanding to that effect.
Fellow Kogi Easterners, this is one part none of the aspirants has dared to thread. Of course, we know, and they know that a month is enough for a business minded leader to prove his worth.
These are facts and figures that speaks louder than any political jingoism.
The only reason election would be conducted for the Senatorial post in 2019 is to allow democratic process to thrive. Otherwise, Heaven has spoken, the gods of the land have also spoken through the Elders and the masses have made their choice. Therefore, if other contestants can look deep beyond personal conceits, it should be registered in their mind by now that those they want to represent have made their choice and harken to the voice of the masses will put their name in the good book.
