Construction work on Kogi Central ultramodern JAMB computer based test (CBT) centre in Agassa, Okene LGA has reached advanced stage.
The legacy project which was facilitated by Kogi Central Senator and Chairman, Senate Committee on Information and Communication Technology/Cybercrime, Senator Yakubu Oseni commenced in the last quarter of last year.
In addition to implementation of various skill acquisition and empowerment programmes to people across the five local government areas of his constituency, the lawmaker has been unequivocal in his resolve to ameliorate the sufferings of youths who trooped to farther locations for JAMB examination and other computer based tests.
In a brief message on the update of the building of the 600 capacity JAMB CBT centre, the lawmaker’s Personal Assistant, Mall. Yusuf Abdulmumin, reiterated that when completed, the facility would have the capacity to serve students from Kogi Central and neighboring communities.
He further revealed that “the considerable percent of the workforce or direct labour for the project was sourced from Kogi Central. Our economy has received a boost since the building project began.
“The ongoing painting of the structure is being handled by Mr John, an ardent supporter of Senator Yakubu Oseni. The plumbing work is also being executed by one of his unwavering loyalists, Mr Redman. Indeed, loyalty pays and Senator Yakubu Oseni will never neglect any of his ardent supporters.”
The message equally revealed that to ensure timely delivery of the project according to specifications, Senator Yakubu Oseni has been making several unscheduled inspection visits just as his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Aliyu Bello and Personal Assistant, Mall. Yusuf Abdulmumin were always on site.
Mall. Abdulmumin also hinted that his boss is particularly supervising supply of all the digital devices and other equipment to the JAMB CBT centre.
“The project along side others spatially located across various communities in Kogi Central will be commissioned officially as soon as possible,” he said.
