A group, Movement for the Actualization of Dr. Gambo Yahaya 2023, has called on the medical doctor to join the 2023 race and represent Ankpa I constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly.
Coordinator of the group, Jibrin Muhammed, made the call in a statement made available to journalists in Lokoja on Sunday.
He noted that looking at Dr. Gambo Yahaya’s credentials, he is the right man to represent Ankpa I state constituency in 2023.
Jibrin described Mr. Gambo as a God-fearing man who has the poor people at heart.
“Youths and poor people can call on you to represent them based on what you have done. We cannot just wake up in the morning and start drumming support for someone.
“We are not operating based on ‘we love somebody’, we might love and not liking him to represent us. After due consultations and looking at what he has done so far and what he is doing, we call him to run for the seat of Kogi State of House Assembly come 2023,” he said.
He noted that Dr. Gambo Yahaya is not a new comer into the political arena as has aspired for the same seat in 2007 under the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) which metamorphosed through merger to form All Progressives Congress (APC).
Jibrin said Gambo was part of the struggle that created the platform for youth participation in politics as far as Ankpa local government is concerned.
“He made all these struggle through a movement known as Uja’che club of Nigeria, a selfless sacrifice, with other well meaning Ankpa youths. That is what others are benefiting today.”
He also said Dr. Gambo has touched the lives of the poor and the less privileged without making any news out of it.
“He has used is various leadership positions to facilitate infrastructural development in Ankpa Local government noting that he has build bridges across all political divides.
“He is not coming out base on what he has done, but the good people of Ankpa I is calling him to run for that position. If by His Grace he wins that election, I believe that 90% percent of Ankpa I problem is solved,” he added.
