House of Assembly candidates in Kogi Central senatorial district in last general elections, on Sunday, endorsed Honorable Mohammed Omuya as their choice for the position of state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the coming state congress slated to hold soon.
Speaking on behalf of other candidates shortly after a meeting, Prince Mohammed Ganaja stated that the decision was reached after wide consultation with leaders and other major stakeholders, especially within Kogi central senatorial district.
“We have consulted widely and we have come to a conclusion and strategies that will enable the party to explore her chances as we go into election. Top in our priorities is to ensure that the would-be chairman of the party is widely accepted, willing and ready to unite our party on a common front,” he stated.
He urged anyone with ambition for the position to feel free to declare his or her intentions saying “this decision is not to disenfranchise anyone, but to ensure a united family as we move into the major task ahead”.
