The Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Umar Ahmed Imam solicits the support of the Traditional Institution in Kogi State for the present Government to succeed in its New Direction Administration under the able and divine mandate of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State.
He stated this at the Palace of His Royal Majesty, Alh. Abdulrazaq Isa Koto, the Ohimege Igu of Koton-Karfe on Friday when he paid the Monarch a thank you visit.
He assured the 1st Class Monarch of fairness, equity and even distribution of state resources for the development of all parts of the State.
He commended the Ohimege Igu for his tireless effort in ensuring that Lokoja/Kogi-Koton Karfe remain one and the same while also acknowledging his overwhelming support for the current administration which he said is trying its best for a better Kogi State.
In his response, the Ohimege Igu appreciated God for having His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello as the Executive Governor of Kogi State and Rt. Hon. Umar Ahmed Imam as the Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly at this time in the history of the State, which is faced with development challenges that requires extra-ordinary approaches to conquer them.
He advised the Speaker to encourage the present government to hold town hall meetings frequently to remain in touch with the people at the grassroot.
He also intimated the Speaker with the pre-occupation of the people of Kogi/Koton-karfe which is largely farming and requests the Government to provide his people with farming implements and agricultural credit facilities now that the farming season is here.
He assured the Speaker of his unflinching and continued support and loyalty to the present administration as the custodian of the tradition of the Igu People and an executive member of the Kogi State Traditional Council.
