Kogi State House of Assembly has today screened and confirmed Hon. Adabenege Adams as Executive Chairman of Kogi State Local Government Service Commission.
The confirmation followed re-nomination of Hon. Adams by the state Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo who has been serving in the capacity since year 2020.
While fielding questions from members of the State Assembly during plenary, the Executive Chairman reeled out his plans to deepen his commitment towards evolving effective Local Government administration in Kogi State, adding that the state government has graciously taken the welfare local government workers as a top priority.
“We will endeavor to justify the confidence reposed in us for this appointment by the state Governor. It is no doubt that Kogi State Local Government has taken the lead in staff welfare, promotions and provision conductive work environment. It is on this trajectory that we shall continue to deliver our responsibilities to the best of our abilities,” he said.
It is worthy of note that Honourable Adabenege Adam’s professional career is marked by extensive experience in finance, administration, and leadership. Prior to his current role as Executive Chairman in 2020, he served as a Manager in the Tax Audit Department of the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service from 2016 to 2020. His career also includes key managerial roles such as Financial/Administrative Manager at Balita Aluminum Systems Limited from 2011 to 2016, and Accountant at Weikmaster Facility Managers, Lagos, between 2010 and 2011.
Earlier in his career, he served as Financial/Administrative Officer at Good Samaritan Guards Limited, Lagos, and as a school teacher during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Taraba State.Outside of his professional life, Honourable Adams enjoys reading, researching, and farming. These hobbies reflect his inquisitive nature and connection to his roots in Kogi State.
Many of his professional colleagues who commented shortly after his confirmation we’re of the opinion that his reappointment as the Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Local Government Service Commission underlines the trust placed in him by the state government.
They noted that Honourable Adams’s leadership has been instrumental in advancing the commission’s objectives since 2020, contributing to improved local governance and public service delivery in Kogi State.
