The All Progressive Congress (APC) has elected and inaugurated its Kogi State Interim Management Executive.

The ceremony held on Saturday at the National Secretariat in Abuja and was supervised by the National Vice Chairman (North Central) Gen. Ahmed Abdullahi Abokie.

8. Hon. Adaji Ainoko – State Financial Secretary

9. Engr Adeyemi Adebola – State Auditor

The new officers were charged to diligently carry out their duties and ensure the party garner more strength.

It would be recalled that the inauguration of the Borno Interim Committee had caused disaffection within the national leadership, with the party’s National Vice Chairman (North East), Umar Duhu, accusing National Secretary, Tijani Tumsah, of usurping his functions.

In a statement issued in Borno, Duhu stated that “In my capacity as the Vice Chairman, I am the only one empowered by the APC to inaugurate all APC State Interim Committee (SIC) Members (in the zone).”

“I had inaugurated, Bauchi, Gombe, Taraba, and Adamawa States. I only have Borno and Yobe State, to conclude my assignment in the Zone.”

“For Borno State, I am on the last lap of discussions with the leaders of the Party in the State, to inaugurate them. What I am doing is to carry everyone along. I will be failing in my responsibilities if I go ahead to inaugurate, and does not carry all members of the SIC along.”

He added that “I am not sick, nor outside the sores of this Country, that anyone, no matter how big his position is in the APC, that, such person will usurp my powers and do so for selfish reasons.”

‘The no lost love’ between the state governor, Kashim Shettima, and his predecessor, Ali Sheriff, over control of the party, reportedly led to the crisis.

The committee inaugurated by Tumsah is said to be loyal to the governor who attended the event with his supporters. Senator Sheriff and his supporters stayed away from the event.
