Miliki, who is the Executive Director, Conscience for Human Rights and Conflict Resolution (CHRCR), made this known in a statement issued in Lokoja on Monday.

He commended the leadership of the Nigerian Police Force for listening to the voice of reason and yearning of Nigerians by scrapping SARS.

Miliki called on the IGP to review complaints that led to the dissolution of SARS and extend the current reorganisation to all sections and units in the Nigeria Police Force.

“We call for a nationwide commencement of community policing with adequate citizens participation.

“The 1999 Nigeria Constitution, as amended, provides for the establishment of the Nigeria Police Force under section 214. It provides that there shall be a Nigeria Police Force, and subject to the provisions of the constitution, no other police force shall be established for the country.

“We call on the IGP to take a second look at the reports of the human rights training that took place in the year 2016 in all the zones across the country,” he said.
