The Kabba APC Patriots has dismissed a recent publication titled “Stop Impersonating Kabba APC Leaders” as “mischievous and baseless,” accusing its authors of sowing division within the party while lacking any real electoral clout in Kabba Bunu Local Government Area.

In a rejoinder signed by Tunde Aluko Inubiwon on behalf of the group, the Patriots said they would ordinarily have ignored the publication, but felt compelled to set the record straight to avoid misleading the public — and, in particular, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, whom it said the original write-up was designed to mislead.

The group moved quickly to clarify who was and wasn’t part of a recent delegation that visited Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke in Abuja. According to the statement, Prince Matthew Kolawole (former Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly), Hon. Wemi Jones (Commissioner for Education), Hon. Omoluabi Olabode Adeyemi (Special Adviser on Energy), and the Council Chairman were not part of the trip. Everyone else who made the visit, the group said, are “bonafide APC members with proven capacity to deliver their polling units anytime, any day.”

The Patriots argued that stripping away the “value addition” of those who traveled to Abuja would leave “nothing left for the APC in Kabba,” describing the delegation’s members as the “trajectory and face of Kabba APC.”

No Mandate, No Hidden Agenda — Patriots

The group was emphatic that the visit carried no official weight. It said the trip was not undertaken on behalf of the Local Government Executive, nor did the delegation purport to represent Kabba APC or the Owe nation as a whole.

“At no time did the delegation claim that they were authorized, nominated, or mandated by the APC in Kabba to represent the party or speak on behalf of its leadership at any level,” the statement read. “They went in their individual and personal capacities strictly as APC members, with the view to strengthen the party ahead of 2027.”

The Patriots described the visit as an opportunity to “rub minds” ahead of the presidential and other elections, cement ties, and strategize, adding that there is no restriction on seeing Faleke. The group also commended Faleke for his developmental contributions to Kogi State.

Accusations Against Critics

The Patriots turned the spotlight on those behind the original publication, alleging they are rattled because their “antics have collapsed” and that they have no track record of delivering votes in their units.

“We are aware that those who are afraid of the visit are those who think they have caged the Governor and still want to remain relevant,” the statement said. “Unfortunately, they have no electoral value.”

Appeal to Governor Ododo

The group insisted it holds nothing against Governor Ododo and urged him not to be swayed by what it called “political opportunists,” calling instead for broad-based reconciliation within Kabba APC while there is still room to salvage party unity.

“Our mainstay is promoting peace, unity, and collective progress,” the statement said. “We urge the Governor to beware of the path of division and political mischief some people are trying to create all for want of relevance.”

The Patriots reaffirmed their loyalty to APC ideals, describing the delegation members as “the real builders of the modern day APC in Kabba” who remain committed to working toward the party’s continued success.

The statement closed with a firm distinction between personal and official capacity: “We are men of integrity and will not claim what we are not. Without overstating the obvious, those who visited Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke did so as APC members from Kabba and not as leaders of the APC in Kabba, or Kabba APC Executives.”
