The Iyara Development Association (IDA) has warmly welcomed the appointment of Mr. Olajide Samuel Olushola as the Education Secretary of Ijumu Local Government Area in Kogi State, following a letter from the Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). The association described the development as a well-deserved recognition for one of its sons and a significant milestone for the Iyara community.
In a statement signed by Dr. Aliyu Badaki, the National President of IDA, the association expressed deep gratitude to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for what it termed a clear demonstration of inclusive governance and equitable representation.
“You have once again shown that you remember the people not just at the polls, but in the corridors of governance where decisions that shape lives are made,” Dr. Badaki said.

The association also commended the leadership of the Kogi State Universal Basic Education Board, led by its Executive Chairman, Mallam Abdulrazak Muhammed Yusuf, for what it described as a process guided by equity, fairness, and justice. The IDA noted the Executive Chairman’s track record of enhancing academic excellence in the state.
Extending heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Olushola, the IDA charged him to bring the same integrity, dedication, and passion that have defined his career to his new role, stressing that the children of Ijumu Local Government Area deserve the very best in educational stewardship.
Beyond the appointment, the IDA used the occasion to reaffirm its unwavering support and loyalty to Governor Ododo’s administration. The association indicated it would continue to mobilise its members behind the governor’s policies and programmes, expressing confidence that his leadership is steering Kogi State in the right direction.
