Italo was one of the most cherished cultural festival which provides a platform for the assembly of the entire eastern plank of Kogi state, and a room for the exhibition of our rich cultural heritage, and was done once in every year.
This festival was on the smooth run until the year 2007. When it got some political hitches as a result of some clash of interest between the political top shots. And ever since all efforts and logistics to recuperate the dying festival has met brick walls.
I want to use this medium to solicit with all the Igala social cultural group to join efforts towards the restoration of this cherished occasion. As it is a uniting measure to see to a united and focused Igala nation.
It is also a forum for meeting the elites and the well to do Igala sons and daughters and also presenting before them the problems rocking the youthful generation and discussing the way forward.
It is also a measure to promote and blowing the trumpet of the Igala race, as the 9th largest ethnic group in Nigeria.
The importance is just too numerous to mention.
A greater and united Igala kingdom is our utmost wish.
